The Mid March Update – a new intern, Rachel, and lots of shooting.

Photography has been going full force here.  Halfway into the month of March I’ve already done 4 corporate events, several portraits shoots and more.  Something I’m really happy about is the startup of my classes at Showcase.  It’s absolutely awesome being an instructor at the school, and this new batch of students look to be another top notch class.  While it maybe self serving, I can’t but help highly suggest it to anyone looking for great structured yet organize photography instructions.

Something, or someone, I would like to introduce is my dear friend, fellow classmate at Gwinnett tech, and now new intern Sonia Ojeda.  Sonia and I met almost 3 years ago as fellow students.  I’ve always been impressed by her photography drive, and mostly important path of self improvement.  She’s used me as a resource on many occasions, but has driven herself to really look for the best way to grow her photography.  She’s already helped me in a lot of shoots, and it’s really awesome to to involve her in more.

I’m keeping this update short and sweet, but what’s an update without pictures?  Here’s a recent session with the amazing Ms. Rachel Jones.  A 19 old home grown talent with fiery red hair (I think it’s fake).  Please have a look, and check out my facebook gallery for her.

February – Photography and more

Photography has been interesting the last month.  A major event has happened in my life, and caused a state of personal depression on one hand, but vibrant fervor as a photographer on the other.  The last few weeks have been shoot/shoot/shoot including personal portraiture, and corporate events.  Here’s a sample of some things I’ve photographed.

A few weeks ago my photography students at showcase went to the Oakland Cemetery.  We brought a model with us dressed to match the scenery.  Here are some of those photos.  Rachel was the models name, and she knocked it out of the park for her first time modelling.  Her makeup was done by her friend Sarah Green, and wardrobe by me.

Showcase had 2 fieldtrips scheduled that day, so right after I brought my 102 students to the Southeastern Railroad Museum in Duluth, GA.  There’s amazing texture to be found there, and also so much time to be lost into the history and past of these old trains.

So what have I been up too? – Shooting in January 2012 and a little ahead

Hey guys, it’s been a while. Photography’s coming back full force for me in both actual paid work coming in, and also just my general interest in it. I wanted to share with you guys some stuff that’s new, and also shoots i’ve done the last month or so. Thank you to everyone who commented and wrote to me during this down period, it helped motivate me to stay the course.

Well first come to first, I’m a instructor at the Showcase School of Photography now. I’m teaching my second session now and the students are absolutely awesome. It’s great to be in an environment were people want to learn. I also get feedback from several of my old students already who said how they loved me as a instructor. Muy beuno.

If you want to take your photography to a higher level via a structured yet very organize education process, I can recommend any other way than taking our courses.  I teach a Digital 101 and Digital 102 class that are opening up on the 7th for registration, hope to see one or 2 of you readers there.

Check out my profile page for a little hidden lols.

Anyone still checking this blog?

I really should update it 🙂  Send me an email if you still check this blog.  Put a question about photography, or about my photography in it.  I’ll answer those questions on my next blog post.  Hopefully more than one comes in 🙂

Life as a photographer

It’s been a while since this place has been updated.  Truth be told it wasn’t from a lack of interest, but more a lack of motivation.  The last 6 months have been trying and there was many times I contemplated giving photography up completely.  I didn’t graduate school because of money, haven’t been able to find a steady job, and now the only way Ive seen to get my life back in order is to sell all my equipment.  So we will see how that goes. If anyone has any ideas, or more for potential jobs, please feel free to email me.

On the other hand gigs have been coming up, and one of my most recent ones was an amazing wedding for fellow photographer and dear friend Felicia Atwell Mcfarland.  She was a drop dead gorgeous bride, and put that with a spectacular venue it pretty much made the photos super easy to take.  Here’s a few sample photos

Blossoming of a Muse – Lisa B

Lisa - Deep blue
Theme : Basic Boudoir/Glamor

Photographers focusing on portraits will no doubt have endless amount of faces in front of their camera. Every once in a while the photographer may stumble upon someone so amazing, so exciting, that person just models for them consistently and also motivates the photographer to perform at a high level. I’ve been lucky to have had several of those people in the form of Carli, Aglae, Elizabeth, and Maryn. Recently I’ve had the pleasure of working with someone who is fire balling herself to the top of my list, and her name is Lisa.

Theme : Outside portraiture
